Science Writer/Communications Specialist
The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the Iowa Nutrient Research Center - Iowa State University

Seeking a science writer who will work closely with researchers to develop communication pieces such as stories, news releases, features, web and social media content, and other written and visual content.

This position will focus on meeting both the college’s goals and the center’s goals in communicating scientific progress in agriculture, life sciences, water quality, natural resources and related areas to lay audiences. The person’s work will help raise the visibility of the college’s and the center’s research programs to general and targeted audiences. It will help explain, illustrate and demonstrate the impact of the college and center’s research portfolio for the state of Iowa and the nation.

Assistant Professor of Practice, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Communication Program - University of Nebraska-Lincoln

Now accepting applications and nominations for the position of Assistant Professor of Practice in the Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Communication program in the Department of Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communication at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. This is a 12-month, 100% FTE, non-tenure-track position. The preferred start date is August 1, 2018.

An M.S. in Agricultural Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or a closely related field as well as relevant experience in producing publications and working with digital platforms is required.

Assistant Professor, Agricultural Communications
Oklahoma State University – Stillwater Campus

This is an eleven-month, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor funded
75% Instruction and 25% Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service (OCES). The successful
candidate for this position is expected to provide leadership in the teaching of undergraduate and
graduate courses in agricultural communications. In particular, the candidate should have
experience in convergent media and/or graphic design. The successful candidate will be expected
to develop programs and build capacity within OCES to use convergent media to communicate
about complex issues in agriculture, food, the environment, and natural resources. Preferred
starting date is July 1, 2018.
